KHAITA – Joyful Dances
Tibetan Dance

Dance workshop on September 27 and 28, 2014

This workshop offers us a wonderful opportunity to get into direct contact with Tibetan culture and its symbolic richness. Dancing the contemporary Tibetan dances in groups helps us develop our awareness of space, a harmonic interaction between man and woman, and being in harmony as a team.

It serves as a wonderful example of how to interact harmoniously, experiencing common joy and practicing awareness.

“For a Dzogchen practitioner everything is Dzogchen practice. … That’s why we sing and dance…you also try and do the same!”

Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, Merigar letter no. 15

Tsering Dolker and Top Gyal Lama will introduce us step by step to the dances with their graceful as well as powerful and dynamic elements. These dances, experienced in a group, are based on simple, repeating sequences of steps. Everyone, regardless of previous experience and age, can join in.
